The Los Angeles Lakers snapped a nine-game losing skid in a double overtime win against Pau Gasol and the Chicago Bulls at Staples Center on Thursday night.

Jordan Hill picked up a double-double and a season-high 26 points to go along with his 12 rebounds, as he led the Lakers with his 16th double-double of the season. Lakers head coach Byron Scott said that was the type of performance he’d been hoping for all season from the big man.

Wayne Ellington also had another solid performance, contributing 23 points to the Lakers 123-118 victory.

I felt like we covered for each other. We held each other accountable, moving the basketball. We helped each other on defense,” Ellington said after the game.

In Jordan Clarkson’s four games as a starter, the rookie is now averaging 13.5 points per game, after tying his career-high with 18 points Thursday night. After the game, Clarkson said he actually met up with Steve Nash on Wednesday to talk about a lot of aspects of the game.

The Lakers will practice on Friday before hopping on a plane to the East Coast on Saturday. The Lakers will face the New York Knicks, Milwaukee Bucks, Orlando Magic and Cleveland Cavaliers.
