The Los Angeles Lakers won’t get back on the basketball floor until October. Rookie Brandon Ingram will make his regular season debut in purple and gold on Oct. 26 against the Houston Rockets. Although Ingram won’t play his first official game for Lakers in several weeks, the former Blue Devils star recently hit the blacktop at the famous Venice Beach courts while sporting a nice suit for GQ.

The saying goes: if you look good, you play good. So the LA Lakers’ rookie sensation dons his finest suit and—unfortunately for the guys there—joins a game of pickup basketball on Venice Beach.

Along with appearing in this ad for GQ, Ingram, along with the rest of the Lakers talented young core, has been putting the work in this summer in preparation for the 2016-17 NBA season. The rookie has his sights set on winning the NBA Rookie of the Year award and claims that is his driving force heading into his first season with the Lakers.

Along with the pursuit of earning the distinction of league’s top rookie, Ingram also can’t wait to face superstar Kevin Durant. The Duke product has spoken highly for the newest addition of the Golden State Warriors and recently talked about idolizing his game.

The talented 18-year-old forward will join the likes of D’Angelo Russell, Julius Randle, Jordan Clarkson, Larry Nance Jr., and fellow rookie Ivica Zubac. This promising young group of talent will continue trying to improve their game leading up to the NBA preseason which will get underway for the Lakers on Oct. 4 against the division rival Sacramento Kings in Anaheim at the Honda Center.
