The Los Angeles Lakers are currently going through one of their worst seasons in franchise history. NBA veterans Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash have played in 16 games this season due to unfortunate injuries.

The Lakers locker room has also been affected with a negative misguidance among players and coaches. Pau Gasol has not been on the same page with Mike D’Antoni due to reluctance to change style of play.

It’s tough to say, but with all the negative impact the Lakers have been going through, the journey for Kobe’s sixth ring might be out of reach unless the Lakers front office makes some major moves this off-season or the next.

In the video above, WNBA star Skylar Diggins gives her opinion on ESPN’s First Take on the debate of the chances LeBron James catches up with Kobe on championship rings.

Skylar gives her own opinion on Lebron coming short compared to Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith. She thinks it might be a tough task to catch up to Bryant’s ring count (5).

It’s debatable, but with the Laker season in turmoil, it’s tough to say if the franchise continue to head downhill. Kobe’s chances of retiring with a sixth ring maybe out of reach.
