VIDEO: Steve Nash Says Lakers Won’t Slow Down, But Need Pau Back

Steve NashAfter the Lakers beat the Chicago Bulls in somewhat relaxing fashion Sunday afternoon, Steve Nash was asked about their ability to build a championship team around the current Lakers roster. Our friend, Jeff G., over at Power 106, caught Steve Nash’s reaction on camera.

“If we can get Pau back, obviously Jordan Hill is probably not coming back this year, but if we can get Pau and Jordan I think there’s a team we can build around for sure. This year we really need to get Pau back to reach our heights.”

Like Mike D’Antoni has also reiterated over the past several games, Steve Nash also believes that without Pau Gasol, the Lakers won’t be able to reach their full potential. Plus, along with Gasol, Jordan Hill is also an important part of the Lakers ability to win a championship next year, as he is not expected to return for several months. Jeff G. asked Nash if he was afraid of his team letting off the gas now that they’ve moved up to the 8th spot in the playoffs.

“I never thought about that because we should be deeply entrenched in a war here to get there.”

The Lakers take on the 18-46 Orlando Magic on Tuesday at 4PM PST. Despite the negative noise, which will no doubt engulf Amway Center, if Steve Nash is right, then we should expect nothing less than a bloodbath.
