VIDEO: Steve Nash Talks About Being General Manager Of Canadian Team

In May 2012, Steve Nash was appointed as the general manager for the Canadian team. In the video above, Nash explains his goal of qualifying for the 2016 Olympics with Grantland’s Bill Simmons. With players like Andrew Wiggins, Anthony Bennett, Robert Sacre, Tyler Ennis, and Kelly Olynyk, Nash knows the team is talented, but the roster has never played international basketball.

While the Canadian team is extremely young and the 2020 Olympics is a more realistic goal as each player gains experience, Nash and his staff are trying to speed up the process. However, with talented players, they’ll give themselves a chance to compete in the 2016 Olympics.
