Byron Scott Says Lakers Youth Getting Hard Lesson On ‘What Not To Do’
Game Recap: Lakers Fall To Clippers, Swept For Second Straight Year

The Los Angeles Lakers fell to the Los Angeles Clippers Wednesday night resulting in their 62nd defeat of the season. No one expected the Lakers to make the post season, but this 2015-16 campaign has been nothing short of a disappointment for the fans and the franchise.

Despite the great young talent on the roster and some solid veteran players, the Lakers have won just 16 games this season and have the second-worst record in the league. Even though the rebuilding process will take time, it would have been nice to see the team, at least, make progress from last season’s performance.

After the team’s 91-81 loss to the Clippers, head coach Byron Scott talked about what his young players have learned this season, or lack thereof, via LA Daily News writer Mark Medina.

Scott has not been very supportive of the young players on the roster and fans are upset that he doesn’t give them the playing time they deserve. D’Angelo Russell, Julius Randle, and Jordan Clarkson are the stars of the next generation, but it seems as though Scott does not understand that.

Although he has decided to bench Lou Williams and Brandon Bass for the remainder of the season, to give the younger players more minutes, it seems like too little too late. The only way for them to develop into All-Stars, they needed to see more time on the court from the start of the season.

At this point, it is unclear as to whether or not Scott will return as the head coach of the team. If the Lakers do decide to part ways, they must hire a coach that understands the value of the team’s young talent.
