At the age of 36 and in his 19th season, Kobe Bryant is posting numbers that have not been seen this late in an NBA career. Despite the struggles, Kobe is averaging 24.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.2 assists in 29 games.

After picking up his second triple-double of the season against the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday, the five-time champion is second amongst Western Conference guards in the second All-Star ballot returns via NBAAllStar:

With nearly a 200,000 vote lead on James Harden, Kobe is on his way to his 17th All-Star selection of his career. Although Kareem Abdul-Jabbar holds the record with 19 selections, Kobe has won the NBA All-Star Most Valuable Player award four times and is the all-time leading scorer.

Despite the physical struggles and the 10-22 record, Kobe remains one of the most popular players around the world. The five-time champion is approximately 50,000 votes away from the two leading vote-getters, LeBron James and Stephen Curry.

The 2015 NBA All-Star Game takes place in New York City on February 15 and is also the location of Kobe’s first All-Star game in 1998.
