Before the Los Angeles Lakers headed into the All-Star break, Jordan Hill and Nick Young were dealing with injuries. Hill was battling a hip injury while Young suffered a peroneal tendon strain in the loss to the Portland Trail Blazers.

Fortunately, both players will be ready for Friday’s game against the visiting Brooklyn Nets, according to Mike Trudell of Lakers.com:

With the NBA trade deadline passing on Thursday, both Young and Hill are feeling a sigh of relief with the team electing not to ship either player elsewhere. Hill appeared to be the most likely of all the players on the current Lakers roster to be dealt due to his value, but no deal was made.

Hill is having a breakout season with the Lakers averaging a career-best 12.3 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. Hill is playing eight more minutes per game for head coach Byron Scott then he did under Mike D’Antoni and has become arguably the most consistent player on the team this season.

As for Young, the veteran guard has struggled after signing a lucrative deal with the team last summer. Young is averaging around four points less per game in comparison to last season at 13.5 while shooting a career-worst 36.5 percent from the floor.
