After a strong first season with the Los Angeles Lakers, Nick Young was re-signed to a four-year, $21.5 million contract this past off-season. While expectations were high for the sixth man, Young has struggled as he is shooting a career-low, 36.6 percent from the field.

Young has missed the last nine games with a swollen left knee and with minimal improvement, will get a CT scan on Monday according to Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News:

Lakers forward Nick Young will get a CT scan on Monday after experiencing minimal improvement in the swelling in his his left knee.

As a result, Young will be forced to miss his 11th straight game due to the injury as the Lakers travel to face the Golden State Warriors on Monday. During Young’s absence, the Lakers have gone 3-9 during this stretch and were recently eliminated from playoff contention.

With the Lakers evaluating their young prospects in Jordan Clarkson, Tarik Black and Ryan Kelly, it remains to be seen if Young will be the latest Laker to be ruled out for the remainder of the season. For the second consecutive season, the Lakers have been marred by injuries to Kobe Bryant (shoulder) and Julius Randle (leg) as they look forward to the NBA Draft and free agency.
