Lamar Odom Looking Forward to Playing Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers essentially ‘gave away’ Lamar Odom to the Dallas Mavericks after the Chris Paul deal died down. Odom did not like the method in which the Lakers went about his trade rumors and he expressed his desire to leave the team.

The Lakers knew they could not keep Odom in the lineup, but players and fans are most upset with the fact that the front-office sent him to the Dallas Mavericks. Nevertheless, Odom is now with the defending champions and will be competing against the Lakers.

With the two teams racing for the top of the NBA world, Lamar Odom is ready to help the Mavericks beat out his former team, writes Tim MacMahon of ESPNDallas.com.

“I’m here to succeed, have fun. I won’t get too caught up in that [playing the Lakers]. I’ll just go out and play my game, help the team I play with to win,” said Odom.

The Lakers have lost one of the most versatile players in the NBA and they just made their rivals better by ‘giving’ them the 2011 Sixth Man of the Year. The Lakers need to improve their roster or else Odom and Mavericks will be atop the Western Conference.
