As the free agency period winds down, one name that has consistently come up in regards to the Los Angeles Lakers is veteran center Kevin Seraphin. The Lakers have an open roster spot and the team’s depth behind Roy Hibbert consists of Tarik Black and Robert Sacre.

What will Kobe Bryant make this season? Find out here!

Seraphin is no longer a possibility as he has agreed to a one-year deal with the New York Knicks according to Michael Scotto of Sheridan Hoops:

With Seraphin off the board, the Lakers’ options for their final roster spot has dwindled. Undrafted rookie center Robert Upshaw reportedly agreed to a deal with the team during Summer League, but that contract has yet to be signed leading many to wonder if he will indeed be part of the team. His upside is great, but questions remain about his off-court issues as well as conditioning.

The Lakers could choose to add a veteran wing such as Dorell Wright as the small forward depth looks pretty light at this time or they could simply go into training camp with 14 players under contract and keep some flexibility in case someone really impresses in training camp or someone unexpected becomes available. At this time, it looks like this will be the Lakers roster going into the season.
