After two straight overtime thrillers, the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers prepared for Game 3 of the NBA Finals with the series tied at one game apiece. The two games have been an entertaining delight, and the viewership ratings seem to justify it.

The game has evolved into a global sport over the years with the Finals being seen as the premier event. In particular, China has a huge basketball following especially after Yao Ming’s career a decade ago. Chinese media community Sina will be live streaming Game 3 of the NBA Finals to those in the country. According to Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News, Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant will be part of the broadcast as a special guest analyst for both pre-game and post-game:

He will serve as a guest analyst for Sina during the Chinese online company’s pre-game and post-game coverage for Game 3 of the 2015 NBA Finals on Tuesday between the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers.

Bryant is a large superstar in China. In past years, he has toured the country while elevating and expanding his brand overseas. He also won a gold medal in the 2008 Beijing Olympics as a member of the United States Men’s Basketball Team.

It will be interesting to see what insights Bryant has about the game itself. Bryant is no stranger to speaking his mind and sharing his basketball thoughts to those who want to listen. He considers himself a basketball junkie and still loves to study the game despite the struggles he and the Lakers have gone through recently.

Although broadcasting might not be his post-retirement plan, there will be plenty of other opportunities for Bryant. He formed a new company, Kobe Inc. last year and invested into sports drink producer, BODY ARMOR.
