Kobe Bryant Wants Steve Kerr To Win Coach Of The Year Over Luke Walton

The Golden State Warriors continue to dominate the competition in the NBA with the reigning NBA champions winning 31 of the 33 games they’ve played thus far. Not only is their record impressive, but they’ve been able to do it with an interim coach in former Los Angeles Lakers forward, Luke Walton.

With the Lakers set to play the Warriors for a second time this season in a few days time, Kobe Bryant was asked about Walton and whether he deserves consideration for NBA Coach of the Year.

Bryant couldn’t help but take a jab at his former teammate by saying the league should give it to Steve Kerr instead via Diamond Leung of the Bay Area News Group:

Ironically enough, Kerr may finally be back on the sidelines for the Warriors when the two teams face off on Jan. 5. Kerr had missed all 32 games for Golden State after undergoing back surgery before the season began.

As for the Lakers, Kobe and company are coming off consecutive wins over the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers. Los Angeles will host the Phoenix Suns on Sunday night before hosting the Warriors on Tuesday at the Staples Center.
