Superstar Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers continues to lead the way in the voting for the 2016 NBA All-Star Game. Bryant leads all players in both conferences with 1,533,432 votes following by reigning NBA MVP, Stephen Curry at 1,206,467.

Along with potentially being the lead vote-getter before Monday’s deadline, it appears Bryant may be in for another tribute on a much bigger scale.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver recently talked about the prospect of honoring Kobe with a presentation at the All-Star Game in Toronto next month via Mark Woods:

The NBA All-Star Game will take place at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto on Feb. 14. It will be the 18th and final All-Star Game for Bryant.

The future Hall of Famer always excels in All-Star appearances and currently holds the record for most MVPs won at four which is one more than Michael Jordan. Bryant last won the award in 2011 in front of his home crowd at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Although Kobe may try to go for a fifth MVP award in the NBA’s showdown of the best of the best, Bryant will likely be hoping to be simply healthy enough to play against the likes of LeBron James and the Eastern Conference All-Stars.

Kobe is currently dealing with an Achilles strain as well as with a persistently sore right shoulder. Bryant may continue to miss time while dealing with these ailments, but has a month to get ready for the All-Star Game.
