Kobe Bryant On Lakers Not Being In Title Contention: ‘Losing is Losing’
Los Angeles Lakers Vs. Clippers Postgame (videos)

The Los Angeles Lakers lost their third consecutive game Wednesday night after they were swept in a home-and-home against the Clippers. Even though the second night of the back-to-back was much closer than the first, the Lakers once again came up short against their cross town rivals.

The Lakers competed well against the Clippers and the game was fairly close throughout. However, the 91-81 loss marked the 62nd defeat of the season, bringing the Lakers’ record down to 16-62.

Kobe Bryant is not accustomed to this much losing in his career as the five-time champion is used to competing for championships in June. Nevertheless, these last few seasons have been exceptions and Bryant is not a fan of watching playoff games at home.

After the ten point loss, Bryant spoke to the media and talked about all the losing he has faced in his final season in the NBA, via Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters.

The season has been a miserable one for the Lakers and the first ballot Hall of Famer, despite the memorable farewell tour. Bryant has been shown love and appreciation in every stadium he has gone to and it is nice seeing him getting the recognition he deserves. Still, if it was up to Bryant, he would want to be fighting for a title in his 20th year in the league.

The Lakers have just four games left on the schedule, with three road games and one more appearance at Staples Center. Bryant announced his retirement late last year, but him leaving didn’t really hit fans until now. Kobe has suited up for the Lakers for two decades, but he’ll be calling it quits in just a few more days.
