The NBA All-Star weekend featured many entertaining events and contests throughout the weekend of Feb. 17. Some of the NBA’s premier players competed in either the three-point shootout, dunk contest, skills challenge or the culminating All-Star Game. The Los Angeles Lakers had three representatives that weekend, with D’Angelo Russell and Brandon Ingram competing in the Rising Stars game, while Nick Young competed in the three-point shootout.

Shortly following the Lakers final contest before the All-Star break, the three Lakers departed for New Orleans, with the festivities held at the Smoothie King Center. When Young initially departed, he didn’t expect that weekend to turn into a whirlwind of events.

Upon returning back to Los Angeles, Young was alerted that someone had broken into his house in the city of Tarzana. The break-in occurred either Feb. 18 or 19, with the burglars escaping with quite the haul

Nearly $500,000 in valuables were stolen from the home of Los Angeles Lakers guard Nick Young last month, the latest in a string of break-ins at celebrity homes around the city, a police official told The Times.

According to reports, no one was home during the break-in, as the robbers escaped with jewelry and other high-priced items. Young and former fiancé Iggy Azalea purchased the $3.4 million property in November of 2014.

Unfortunately for Young, this isn’t the first time the veteran has suffered from a break-in. When the California native formerly lived in Sherman Oaks, he was also hit by burglars. During that exchange, the robbers escaped with more than $100,000 worth of jewelry, clothes, luggage and sneakers.

This report is only the surface of many reported break-ins into the homes of celebrities in Los Angeles. Towards the end of February, Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig’s house was also broken into. The burglars emerged with an estimated $170,000 worth of jewelry, while Puig and his girlfriend were in Arizona for the beginning of Spring Training.
