Soon after the Los Angeles Lakers drafted Lonzo Ball and Kyle Kuzma, Ball made headlines for criticizing rapper Nas, claiming the current generation doesn’t listen to him anymore. Then, the rookie point guard left him off his list of the top-five rappers of all-time.

Ball didn’t stop there, as he wore a sweatshirt with him photoshopped onto Nas’ album cover for “It Was Written.” He wore it before the Lakers lost to the New York Knicks later that night, which led Nas to respond by celebrating the win on Instagram.

That ‘”eud” had seemed to be dead and buried since then, but Kuzma resuscitated the most random battle of 2017 when he posted on Twitter following Nas’ announcement of his newest album that Ball should release a CD of his own on the same day to once and for all see who is superior:

Ball has already released his first album, titled “Born 2 Ball,” earlier this year, so it seems somewhat unlikely he’ll be ready to drop his second one in the timeframe that Kuzma outlined.

Still, Ball going from saying other rappers were better than Nas to trying to upstage his album release with a release of his own would be a next-level competitive move and a solid bit of trolling from one seemingly random enemy to the other.

As of this writing, the “yes” option in Kuzma’s poll was crushing the “Ah hell naw” one, so it seems America is ready for another Ball album. Or at least Lakers Nation is.
