For the first time since debuting this season, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James looked like the dominant force he has been throughout his first 22 years in the NBA. On the final game of their road trip, LeBron scored 10 straight points down the stretch for the Lakers, including five straight after Joel Embiid tied the game, to lift them to a 112-108 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers.

James finished with 29 points, seven rebounds and six assists and even broke out a new celebration following his clutch bucket to put the Lakers up five points with under 30 seconds remaining. It was a yet another vintage performance in a career full of them and center Deandre Ayton was in awe watching it go down.

Following the game, Ayton, who contributed 14 points himself on 7-of-7 shooting to go along with 12 rebounds, said he felt like he was in a movie watching LeBron take over late, via Spectrum SportsNet:

“Clutch genes. Felt like a movie […] You ever watch a movie? It felt like a movie. I was in a movie. […] It was just me watching a movie. It was just me, honestly. It was a GOAT moment. He had his moment and the fans felt him and he just let that marinate and the fans was loving it. I was loving it. I had to stop celebrating just to watch him so I don’t miss nothing. So yeah, it was a movie.”

For Ayton, this was his first time being a teammate while James has these moments so it really is a different feeling when watching it up close. Someone at LeBron’s stage of his career shouldn’t still be able to put up numbers like this, but the Lakers superstar continues to redefine what a player is capable of at 40 years old.

He certainly did it when his team needed it most as the Lakers were coming off an ugly showing in their prior game and Austin Reaves struggled mightily with his worst performance of the season. But LeBron has always stepped up when necessary and the fans in Philadelphia got a show in what could potentially be his final appearance in that building.

LeBron James says he felt like himself in Lakers win over 76ers

His performance against the 76ers was clearly the best of the season so far for LeBron James and the Lakers superstar said it felt good to feel like himself once again.
