There are a lot of questions surrounding this Los Angeles Lakers roster as there are a number of new faces surrounding superstar Luka Doncic, and it is anyone’s guess as to how good this team will be. Of course, with such a new roster comes the need to build up chemistry and Doncic took the first steps towards that in hosting all of his Lakers teammates in Slovenia for a minicamp and team bonding trip.
One of the handful of returning players on this team is Bronny James, who is entering his third season with the Lakers and he recently spoke about the Slovenia trip, enjoying his time there and hoping to go back one day.
“It’s great,” James said in an interview on ESPN LA 710. “The city was great, we had the castle that was close to us. And then we went to Lake Bled, which was great. The castle there and then we played the course over there near Bled. I wanna go back to go to the Alps and stuff like that. The scenery and everything was great.”
Slovenia is not a country known to be a travel destination, but oftentimes those places can offer so much to those visiting and James and the rest of the Lakers were able to experience a place they perhaps never would’ve considered going to otherwise.
The next time James goes, however, he may have to make sure Doncic is there as he made it clear the Lakers superstar was able to get them anywhere they wanted to go in his homeland.
“We were with him,” James added. “He was hooking us up and getting us in the right places in Slovenia. Seeing the most out of the country.”
There are certain athletes who are just at a different level of celebrity in their home country and Doncic fits that bill in Slovenia. There has never been anyone from Slovenia to reach the level of international fame that Doncic is at, and playing for the Lakers only increases that. Even for the son of LeBron James, it was impressive to witness.

The point of the trip to Slovenia was to help build up the chemistry of this Lakers team as there are a number of new players on the roster. It seems to have gotten things off in the right direction as James feels there are good vibes around the team already.
