There haven’t been a ton of details to come out from the Los Angeles Lakers’ team bonding trip to Slovenia hosted by superstar Luka Doncic. Some basic activities that the team took part in are known, but other than that things have been kept pretty quiet as the team has looked to grow closer and build chemistry ahead of the upcoming season.
One of the most beloved teammates on the roster, and one of the few returning players, is Jarred Vanderbilt. The veteran forward was tasked last season with being the protector of sorts for Doncic, but in Slovenia he was the videographer and he released a behind the scenes video from the Lakers’ trip to Slovenia:

It is clear how much Vanderbilt’s teammates love and respect him throughout the video and his personality shines as well. From Doncic, to Dalton Knecht and Quentin Grimes, to even the staff who interacted with him, it is obvious that Vanderbilt is a joy to be around.
Vanderbilt was able to capture multiple different outings from the Lakers’ trip. Everyone knew the team played some golf while out there, but there was also footage of them riding bikes through the streets of Slovenia, some time at the castle the team was staying in, and being out on a lake on a boat with some players taking a dip in the water.
Overall, it was clear that the team really enjoyed themselves and this trip to Slovenia accomplished the goal of bringing the roster closer together. Team chemistry is such an important part of success and everyone being willing to go to war for their teammates really makes a difference on the court. Players not only want to be successful, but want their brothers to be successful and that extra bit of support from the bench can have a big impact.
Vanderbilt might not play a big role on this Lakers team on a night-to-night basis, but as a teammate for everyone else on this roster, young and old, he is extremely important and will help this team grow.
