Andrew Bynum Named Western Conference Player of the Week

Los Angeles Lakers center Andrew Bynum was awarded the Western Conference Player of the Week award for games played over the past seven days.

What makes Bynum’s numbers even more impressive is that they came with Kobe Bryant out of the lineup. Bynum helped lead the Lakers to four consecutive wins, including one over the second ranked San Antonio Spurs. In that game Bynum pulled down a career-high and season record 30 rebounds.

This is great for Bynum, who has been surrounded by controversy this season. It seems that Bynum, as well as the Lakers, are peaking at the right time.
