Lakers News: Mitch Kupchak Acknowledges Availability of Phil Jackson

The Los Angeles are in search of a new head coach and there have been many names thrown out there as possibilities. Phil Jackson may be retired from the league, but there is a chance that he opts to come back to the NBA and run the sidelines for the Lakers once again.

Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak spoke at a press conference today following the firing of Mike Brown and he discussed the idea that Jackson makes his coaching return in Los Angeles.

Jackson has won a total of 11 NBA championships and five of them came with the Lakers. He ran the famous Triangle offense, a system that is something Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol are very accustomed to.

Jackson has proven that he has the ability to coach talent and is regarded as the greatest coach in league history. If the Zen Master can lead talented teams such as Michael Jordan’s Bulls or a Kobe and Shaq’s Lakers to multiple titles, he can surely guide this current Lakers roster to the top of the mountain.
