The Los Angeles Lakers won their first game of the season early on in the week, but all the euphoria came crashing down when the Lakers eventually fell to 1-4 and fired their head coach. For the most part, this Lakers roster has not lived up to expectations and their play on the court has been quite disappointing.
Los Angeles went 0-8 in the preseason and after a 1-4 start to the regular season, the front office decided to part ways with Mike Brown. The news broke out on Friday and it took over the sports headlines for the entire day. Shortly after the news came out, there was speculation as to who would replace Brown on the bench, just part of a hectic seven days here at Lakers Nation.

The Los Angeles Lakers won their first game with Dwight Howard in the lineup Sunday against the lowly Detroit Pistons. The Lakers had control of the game throughout, but Mike Brown did reinsert the starters back into the game after the Pistons made a run in the fourth. The Lakers went on to win the match, 108-79, which temporarily kept Lakers fans in check.
The Lakers returned to the court for their next game in Salt Lake City, but they could not carry the momentum from their win over the Pistons. Los Angeles looked horrendous on both ends of the court and the players seemed to be disengaged and disinterested. The Lakers walked off the court as losers, 95-86, and it ended up being Mike Brown’s last game he coached for the team.
In their first game without coach Mike Brown, the Los Angeles Lakers dominated the Golden State Warriors from the opening tip. The game was well played on both ends of the court and it was nice to see all the players on the same page. Kobe Bryant led the Lakers in scoring with 27 points, and the team went on to win 101-77.
