Lakers To Fix Retired Shaq Jersey Flaw Before Friday’s Game

pmpvxtGThe Los Angeles Lakers had an amazing night last Tuesday. Not only did they beat the Dallas Mavericks in commanding fashion to stay in the hunt for the playoffs, but the franchise retired the jersey of one of the most dominant Lakers of all-time, Shaquille O’Neal.

However, there was one problem that occurred in Shaq’s jersey retirement. If you noticed that the number 34 jersey looked odd when it debuted in the rafters of Staples Center, then you were right. If you are unaware the retired jersey mistakenly featured O’Neal’s name stretched across the front of a Lakers jersey instead of the back.

The Lakers are aware of the jersey flaw, and intend of correcting the mistake immediately. According to Mark Medina:

The Lakers will correct the display of Shaquille O’Neal’s No. 34 retired jersey in time for when the Lakers play Friday against the Memphis Grizzlies at Staples Center, according to a team spokesman.

The well-deserved honor and entertaining ceremony at halftime was thrilling for every Laker fan to watch or listen to. In a matter of seconds, Laker fans were reminded of all the excitement, entertainment and winning that the team earned when Shaq was a member of the purple and gold.
