Kobe PracticeThere has been a lot of talk lately surrounding the all-time starting lineups. We’ve had legendary players like Karl Malone picking their all-time starting five and other legends such as Julius Erving and Michael Jordan talking about where they would take current players compared to the all-time legends.

In an interview on ESPN Radio 710 on Wednesday afternoon, Kobe Bryant talked about who he would take if he had to choose a starting lineup on his all-time team. Here’s what he had to say, and what players he picked.

“It’s not hard for me – Magic, Jordan, Bird, Russel and (Abdul)-Jabbar.”

When looking at who he selected, there’s one consistent theme: winning. Nobody on the squad has won less than three championships (Bird), and Magic (5), Kareem and Jordan (6) and Bill Russell (11) are some of the best winners in league history.

I guess it was a tad surprising Kobe didn’t put himself in the lineup, but considering how frequently Bryant has talked about how he looked up to Jordan growing up it’s not a surprise that he puts them up there. Plus, in multiple scenarios, he’s admitted that Jordan is the best player in NBA history.

In the interview, Kobe also talked about how the team needs to lock up Dwight Howard long term.
