Interview: Nick Young On Lakers Ranking, Kendrick Lamar, Call Of Duty

Wondering what the Lakers are up to in the off-season? New Lakers guard Nick Young has been seen all around Los Angeles this summer, and this week, Lakers Nation caught up with the young man at the Call of Duty: Ghosts Multiplayer Reveal. During the event, fans were treated to an exhibition match with Nick Young, Anthony Bennett and DeAndre Jordan against the U.S Marines in attendance.

Needless to say, Young got his butt whooped by U.S. Marines, but his main goal was to beat this year’s first round draft pick, Anthony Bennett.

“Got a chance to play against the Marines, they kinda dogged me out there…did me wrong….I was trying to tell ’em to take it easy but they didn’t let up,” Young said at L.A. Live. “My main target was Anthony, I told him to be prepared for this on the court, off the court, I’m gunna kill him on his game, and I’m gunna kill him on the court.”

Young isn’t the only Laker to be involved with Call Of Duty. Just a few years ago, Kobe was featured in a Call Of Duty commercial. Young laughed when we reminded him about the commercial and said that he’d let Kobe win if they were going against each other in COD.

Young also had a few strong words after learning that the ESPN Forecast pitted the Lakers in the 12th place spot in the Western Conference.

“I’m very disappointed. I’m mad about that…We’ve got too many talented players on this team to be ranked 12th.”

Plus, what did Young have to say about Kendrick Lamar dropping Phil Jackson’s name in his latest song, “Control.” It’s all in our Lakers Nation exclusive interview, above. Don’t forget to subscribe to our You Tube Channel!
