The Lakers are finalizing their roster as they prepare to enter training camp and the preseason. Of course, there will be more players than the maximum allowed by the NBA to enter the regular season with, which is 15, in order for the team to cut down on who they want on that final roster.
Yesterday evening, the Lakers signed forward Shawne Williams to a reported partially guaranteed contract, but he will still have to compete with others for a final spot for the regular season.

We also learned yesterday that the Lakers were interested in forward Pete Mickeal out of FC Barcelona, and this morning it was reported that there is still mutual interest in power forward Lou Amundson.
Now, there are multiple reports of the Lakers’ interest in adding depth to the backcourt. According to Sam Amico of Fox Sports, the Lakers are one of the teams interested in veteran point guard and free agent Sebastian Telfair. Alex Kennedy from HoopsWorld.com confirmed Amico’s report.

It should be noted that this report is at the “interest” phase, and it may be a stretch for the Lakers to add a fourth point guard on their roster. However, as we all remember from last season, the team had four point guards, and that position still had problems mostly because of injuries.
Telfair, 28, played for the Toronto Raptors and the Phoenix Suns last season, averaging 5.6 points and 2.6 assists while shooting 35.3 percent from the three-point line.
