Lakers News: Kobe Bryant Says He Could Play In November

Kobe Bryant was a full participant again in practice on Tuesday. The media was excited to see Bryant workout and twitter exploded with a number of updates on his every move at practice. He even participated in a full team scrimmage and looked like his normal self.

With Bryant showing no ill effects of the torn Achilles, questions inevitably popped up about whether Bryant would return to the court sooner than expected. Our own Lakers Nation reporter, Serena Winters gave an update on when Bryant felt he could be back in the lineup:

When asked if he could see himself playing in November, Kobe said man, I could see myself playing today! But still cautioned on return date

— Serena Winters (@SerenaWinters) November 19, 2013

The Lakers have a couple more days before their next game, giving Bryant more time on the practice court before the Lakers host the Warriors on Friday night. Bryant, of course, tore his Achilles against this same Warriors team last season so he could be looking for a poetic return.

The Lakers have one more home game on Sunday before hitting the road for a three game road trip next week. You would think that Bryant would want to make his return at home in the Staples Center. There is no doubt that a Bryant return would have that building sold out and completely electric.

The key for Bryant’s return is that he must be 100 percent, not only physically, but mentally as well. If he is hesitant on his repaired Achilles, it will affect his play and he will not be the Bryant we all love. Thankfully, Bryant seems to be planting, cutting, and landing on that foot with no issues right now and if that is the case, we can expect him back sooner than later.
