Lakers Trade Rumors: Kevin Love “100 Percent” Will Join Lakers

KevinLoveThe Kevin Love rumors have been popular for years, but they’ve heated up recently with the T’Wolves struggling. The idea that Love might end up in Los Angeles, playing in the same city where he spent his college days, has long been mentioned, but it seems to be getting closer to reality than ever before.

In an article by ESPN’s Chris Broussard (ESPN Insider required), he’s reporting that at least one NBA GM is telling him Love to L.A. is just a matter of time.

“Most executives believe Love is destined for the Lakers when he becomes a free agent in 2015. “That’s a 100 percent certainty,” one GM told me.”

Oh. Well, alright then.

Obviously saying anything is 100 percent that isn’t already fact is a bit of a stretch, but it’s encouraging news for the Lakers, who are in desperate need of a facelift.

Love, who isn’t a free agent for two more years, will either have to be patient if he wants to join the Lakers or else try to force his way out of Minnesota through a trade. However, he can opt out of his contract following next season, meaning he could force the T’Wolves hand at some point next year if they wanted to get any value in return.

Regardless, Love might follow the script of the Lakers themselves, Minneapolis to Los Angeles, before too long.
