LeBron James Names Magic Johnson To Mount Rushmore Of NBA Greats

Over the past few years, prominent players in the league have talked about who they think are the greatest NBA players of all-time. Kobe Bryant chimed in recently going with Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Bill Russell and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as his top five, but LeBron’s top four, or Mount Rushmore of NBA greats, is a little different.

Along with LeBron saying he’ll crack the top four greatest players to ever play in the NBA, the two-time NBA champion named his top four with Magic as part of the elite group in an interview with Steve Smith of NBATV:

“The easy three that we all talk about in our league. You got Michael Jordan, you got Larry Bird and you got Magic Johnson. And I would say my fourth. Wow. This is so tough. The greatest players of all time that I like to see on Mount Rushmore. This is not fair.

“Oscar Robertson.”

After giving his top four players to put on Mount Rushmore, Smith asked LeBron if he’d be up on the Mount Rushmore and without hesitation said the following:

“Yeah. Because I’m going to be one of the top four players to play this game. For sure. And if they don’t want me to have one of those top four spots they better find another spot on that.”

With LeBron in his 11th year in the league, a total of six MVPs (two Finals) to his credit and two NBA titles, the sky is the limit for the 29-year-old. LeBron has a lot of basketball left in him and will likely compete with the likes of Kobe, Magic and Jordan moving forward.
