Pre-Game Report: Lakers vs. Nuggets

Written by: Brian Chettanapanich

The Lakers last time snatched a victory in Vegas against the Sacramento Kings. Next, they are set to take on their Western Coference rivals, the Denver Nuggets Saturday night. The Lakers will finally play a pre-season game back in the Staples Center in L.A.

The Nuggets will be coming back to the Staples Center after beating the Los Angeles Clippers by 5 points with Carmelo’s near triple-double game putting up 30 points, 14 boards, and 9 assists. Ron Artest’s main task is going to have to stop Melo in his tracks.

The Nuggets are still uncertain on their All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony who was recently mentioned in various sources that he still wants out of Denver. In the summer, Anthony was close to being shipped to the Nets in a 4-team trade however it didn’t fall through. The Nuggets are still looking for great value in return if they decide to ship out their star player anytime soon.

Expect the Laker’s bench to play more minutes Saturday night. The last game against the Kings, the bench had a few broken plays that were eventually picked up by Ron Artest to a successful finish. Matt Barnes will need to some work in learning the triangle offense better and so do the rookies.
