Lamar Odom Unimpressive In First Game With Spanish Club Baskonia

Former Laker Lamar Odom was finally able to get back on the basketball floor on Thursday for Spanish club Baskonia, but failed to make an impression in his first game overseas.

According to the Associated Press via ESPN, Odom played in only six minutes in the first half against Unicaja Malaga and failed to return in the second half:

Odom played just six minutes to finish the first half, grabbing two rebounds while committing three fouls.

The 34-year-old power forward showed a lack of match fitness and touch after 10 months out of the game as he also missed a 3-point attempt.

Odom did not return in the second half of the Euroleague game as coach Sergio Scariolo said Odom’s body was dealing with the aches and pains of a long layaway.

It comes as no surprise that Odom would be rusty with everything he’s gone through over the past few year or so. Odom has gone through a divorce, drug problem and forced to sign overseas due to the lack of interest from NBA teams.

Needless to say, things haven’t been easy for the two-time NBA champion as he’s tried to put the pieces back together. It remains to be seen if Odom will ever be able to get back on track, but this rough start in Spain definitely doesn’t bode well moving forward.
