Andrew Bynum Out Tuesday vs. New Jersey Nets

After sustaining an ankle injury on Sunday night against the Golden State Warriors, Andrew Bynum has announced that he will not be in action Tuesday night when the Lakers host the New Jersey Nets.

According to Dave McMenamin of ESPN Los Angeles, Bynum won’t face the Nets, but is hoping to play Wednesday against the Los Angeles Clippers.

“I can’t play,” Bynum said while wearing tape around his left ankle. “Hopefully (Wednesday against the Clippers).”

Bynum has been known for missing large chunks of time due to injuries in the past, but before Tuesday he hadn’t missed a game due to injury this season.

Troy Murphy is expected to start in his place.
