After playing in all 43 games this season, Jeremy Lin could sit and watch from the bench on Friday night against the San Antonio Spurs. Head coach Byron Scott elected to start rookie Jordan Clarkson at the point guard position with veteran Ronnie Price coming off the bench.

Even though the Lakers were down by as much as 23 points on Friday, Scott kept Lin on the bench with the first-year Laker unable to log one minute on the floor against the Spurs.

Following the loss to the Spurs, Scott talked about Lin not getting into the game, via Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters:

Scott also made it clear that this isn’t a permanent benching for Lin, via Winters:

Lin has struggled to adapt to his new surroundings in Los Angeles this season after two disappointing years with the Houston Rockets. Clarkson on the other hand made the best of his opportunity on Friday scoring 11 points and dishing out a career-high four assists.

On Sunday, the Lakers will face off against Lin’s former team in the Rockets. It remains uncertain whether or not Lin will continue to sit behind Clarkson and Price, but all signs point to that possibly being the case.

Scott also made a few other changes to the starting lineup with Ryan Kelly and Robert Sacre replacing Wesley Johnson and Ed Davis.
