Dwight Howard Staying Patient With Lakers’ Slow Start

The Los Angeles Lakers are currently 9-11 and they are sitting at third place in the Pacific Division. The Lakers players have not been able to figure each other out and it seems like the assimilation process will take longer than expected. The players are still getting adjusted to the new coach and many of them are having a hard time while on the court.

Los Angeles cannot seem to find a way to string together consecutive wins, and it once again failed at that when it lost to the Thunder on Friday night. The Lakers ended up losing the game by only six points and they did not play well in the latter part of the fourth quarter. Despite the loss, Dwight Howard told the Los Angeles Times that he believes the Lakers are slowly getting better.

“We’re getting better,” said Dwight Howard, who had 23 points and 18 rebounds. “This is not on anybody’s timetable but ours and we have to be patient and understand this is a process. Despite the loss, we did a lot of great things in the second half that we haven’t been doing for the past couple of games.”

At this point, the Lakers are also facing many injuries, including two to their main stars, Pau Gasol and Steve Nash. No one will be able to get a good picture of how well this Lakers team can play until Nash and Gasol return to the lineup.

So in the meantime, players like Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard need to find a way to get on the same page so that they can carry the Lakers in this tough time.
