Dwight Howard Wins Defensive Player of the Year

Sources say Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard has won his third consecutive Defensive Player of the Year Award. Howard will become the first player in NBA history to win the award three consecutive times, and the Magic would not have been a top seed in the East if it weren’t for Howard.  This season, Howard has averaged 22.9 points, 14.1 rebounds, 2.3 blocks and a career-high 1.3 steals. Howard is also a serious candidate for Most Valuable Player, so he could possible win two performance awards this season.
