Fantasy Basketball Outlook: Tyson Chandler Is On His Way!

We here at Lakers Nation know that Fantasy Basketball is a huge part of the culture in being a fan of the NBA. So for those of you that are currently in a league and looking for some ways to improve your team, we’ve put together a list of players you should consider picking up this week to make your team that much better.

Point Guards

Greivis Vasquez – The point guard hasn’t played a lot of minutes in Toronto yet, but with Kyle Lowry’s name at the forefront of trade rumors, he could be a great guy to get now and stash at the end of your roster. He may have some long-term value.

Jordan Crawford – The absence of Rondo has really given Crawford an opportunity to shine under new head coach Brad Stevens. He’s averaging 16.4 points, 3.2 boards, 6.8 assists and 2.2 3-pointers on 46 percent shooting over his last five games.

Shooting Guards

Jimmy Butler – Butler recently made his return back into the Bulls lineup this past week, and was cleared to play with no minute restrictions. He’s worth a grab if your team needs a guard/forward that can provide threes, steals, and rebounds.

Dion Waiters – Waiters has been fairly hot scoring the ball as of late, scoring 16 and 21 points, respectively, his last two games. He’s a guy that can help any team in need of some points and threes as he’s capable of having a big night any day of the week.

Trending Up – Ramon Sessions, Wilson Chandler

Small Forward

Terrence Ross – The second year player looks like the big winner in the Rudy Gay trade, as he is now slated as the starting small forward in Toronto. He’s averaging 14.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.0 steals, .75 blocks and 2.5 3-pointers over his last four games and should get better and better with more playing time.

Nick Young – Young has been on a scoring tear as of late, and scored 23 points (made five three-pointers) against the Atlanta Hawks last night. The reserve role off the bench has worked very well for Young, and he’ll continue to produce at a high-level coming off the bench for the Lakers.

Trending Up – Jeff Taylor, Marvin Williams

Trending Down – Mike Dunleavey

Power Forward

Jon Leur – Over his last five games, Leur has averaged: 16.4 points and 8.2 rebounds, so he’s a must-grab at this point if your team is in need of a big man.

Derrick Williams – Williams has been playing very well over his last three games, averaging 19 points, five rebounds, and two steals. He’s come off the bench for the Kings, yet that still hasn’t effected his impact.

Trending Up – Trevor Booker, Amir Johnson

Trending Down – Jason Thompson

Center

Tyson Chandler – Chandler is nearing a return according to the Knicks, and could possibly come back as early as Wednesday this week. So it’s time to grab him if your team needs a big man. Chandler is a strong rebounder, provides blocks, and doesn’t hurt a teams field goal percentage.
