Forward Lamar Odom Says Clippers, Lakers Can’t Be Compared

The Los Angeles Clippers are currently three games ahead of the Lakers in the standing, but Clippers forward Lamar Odom is not ready to compare the two teams.

Odom, a member of two Lakers championship teams, is currently on the “other” Los Angeles team and he understand that there is a tendency for comparisons. However, Odom told the Los Angeles Times that eight games into the season isn’t enough to predict which team is better and which will go farther in the postseason.

However, “we can’t compare what the Lakers have done to what the Clippers are trying to do,” Odom said. “See, ‘done’ and ‘trying to do’ are two different things.”

“Eight games, nobody is mathematically the champion,” Odom said. “It’s a long season.  We can’t listen to critics, whether we’re doing bad or we’re doing the best.”

The Clippers have already beaten the Lakers once this regular season, but that was when the Lakers still had coach Mike Brown. The Lakers now have Mike D’Antoni on the sidelines and only time will tell how much the team will improve with him. It is expected that the Lakers will get better on the offensive end, but their effectiveness of the defensive end is yet to be seen.

The next battle of Los Angeles will occur on Jan. 4.
