Gary Payton Praises Kobe, Tells Dwight Howard to “Get it Together”

Remember Gary Payton? He’s that guy that played for the Lakers in 2003-04 and is going to end up in the Hall of Fame this season. Oh, and he had a pretty superb career as a member of the Seattle Super Sonics before coming to Los Angeles and eventually winning a championship with the Miami Heat in 2006.

Anyways, Payton was on ESPN’s SportsNation recently to film a segment titled “Cardboard Clownin’,” which is not to be confused with Cardboard Gerald.

In the segment, Payton tells “Kobe Bryant” that he’s still the best player in the NBA, and has some harsh words for the fake Dwight Howard. I was wondering if Payton would be quite so brash if he were staring down the real Dwight Howard and not the corrugated version, but then I remembered that Payton’s one of the greatest trash talkers the league has ever seen.

Regardless, here’s the video from SportsNation.
