James Worthy to be Time Warner Cable SportsNet Analyst

If you love watching James Worthy break down Lakers games (and also criticize the heck out of them when they play poorly), and were scared you may never see him analyze a game again due to the Lakers-TWC partnership like I was, fear no more!

Time Warner Cable released a statement saying Worthy will join their team as a studio analyst. Dave Miller will also provide analyst duties, Chris McGee (you may know him from Fox Sports West) will be the studio anchor, and Mike Trudell will stalk the sidelines much as he did last season.

Worthy had this to say about his new position:

“As a life-long Laker, I understand how important the Los Angeles Lakers are to Southern California. I’m honored that I’ll be able to speak directly to Lakers fans on Time Warner Cable SportsNet on a daily basis starting Oct. 1.”

Worthy will be joining longtime color-commentator Stu Lantz and play-by-play announcer Bill MacDonald in providing in-depth coverage of Lakers games.

If you currently don’t have Time Warner Cable, you can request your current provider acquire SportsNet through the website: iwantmylakers.com. For more information on the specifics of the deal and how it will affect you next season, check out my previous article.
