Jim Buss Joins 710 ESPN Radio, Discusses Lakers Playoff Chances

The Lakers have been gearing up for the post-season following their loss last evening to the Sacramento Kings. This includes not just the players, but the front office members as well.

Today on 710 ESPN Radio, Lakers executive vice president of player personnel Jim Buss called in to the Mason and Ireland Show to discuss the team’s chances heading into the playoffs and his expectations for the post-season.

Buss also spoke on the suspension of Metta World Peace, and the league’s decision to suspend him for seven games.

“Of course the blow was tremendous and awful, and doesn’t belong in this game,” Buss said. “So I think that seven [games] is absolutely the perfect number.”

Buss went on to discuss how he feels during the post-season, and that he becomes a nervous wreck just like many other Lakers fans.

“It just eats my stomach alive,” Buss said. “There’s nothing I can do about it. I tried lying myself saying, boy I’m going to enjoy these playoffs. I enjoy the games, but I’m a nervous wreck.”

Since Buss has been such a questioned individual during his time in the L.A. front office, many fans will most likely be happy to hear that he’s just as obsessed with winning as the rest of the fans.
