Los Angeles Lakers’ point guard Jordan Clarkson hosted his first Southern California youth basketball camp at Players Edge Sports Complex in Corona last week. Open to all boys and girls ages 8-18, East West Bank also sponsored 50 children from underserved communities to attend the Nike JC6 camp.

For Clarkson, giving these kids an experience that he didn’t have growing up in San Antonio, Texas, rings dear to his heart.

“Being able to have those kids here and give them that experience that I didn’t have growing up is great for me,” Clarkson said during his second day of camp. “While we focus on skills on the court, the camp is also about developing these youth into skilled and valuable members of their communities. I try to be as involved as possible with each camper.”

It was a four day camp, featuring morning and afternoon sessions. Special guests from the NBA like JaVale McGee and Andre Roberson also joined the camp, running drills and interacting with the campers.
