Rookie Jordan Clarkson was taken with the 48th overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft after the Los Angeles Lakers bought the pick from the Washington Wizards. Clarkson being selected by the Lakers was overshadowed by Julius Randle getting taken with a lottery pick early in the draft, but he’s quickly making a name for himself in Los Angeles.

Clarkson has really started to turn it on after taking over as the starting point guard for head coach Byron Scott. Along with being Scott’s number one option at floor general, the rookie is trying to improve all aspects of his game, including three-point shooting.

After the loss to the Charlotte Hornets, Clarkson was asked about his three-point shooting and said the following on TWCSportsNet, via Bob Garcia of Sports Out West:

In the loss to the Hornets on the road, Clarkson had a solid scoring performance with 19 points, but struggled from beyond the arc going 1-for-7 from deep.

Although Clarkson struggled with his shooting from distance in Charlotte, the rookie has a decent percentage from beyond the arc this season. Clarkson was shooting 34.5 percent from three-point range in the 36 games prior to Tuesday’s game.

As for the rest of his game, Clarkson has been a pleasant surprise for the Lakers. In 15 games as a starter, the Missouri product is averaging 13.7 points, 3.8 assists and 3.2 rebounds per game while shooting 44 percent from the floor and 35 percent from beyond the arc.
