On Wednesday night, the Los Angeles Lakers were able to bounce back with a win over the lowly Minnesota Timberwolves after getting crushed by Russell Westbrook’s Oklahoma City Thunder.

Even though the Lakers were ultimately able to come out with the win over the Timberwolves, Andrew Wiggins and company didn’t make it easy. The game was cringeworthy to say the least, but Minnesota weren’t going away forcing overtime.

Following the win over Flip Saunders’ squad, rookie Jordan Clarkson, who sealed the deal with two clutch free throws in overtime, said the following about the team’s performance, via Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters:

Clarkson battled back and forth with fellow rookies in Wiggins and Zach LaVine. Wiggins led all scorers with a game-high 27 points while Clarkson finished with a team-high 20 to go along with five rebounds, five assists and two steals.

Veteran point guard Jeremy Lin also had a solid performance for interim head coach Paul Pressey with 19 points as a starter alongside Clarkson. Lin didn’t play in the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t due to his play in the first three quarters. Pressey alluded to wanting to see more of rookie Jabari Brown in the final quarters of the game.

Following the Lakers’ win on Wednesday, the team will continue their road trip heading up north to Canada to face off against the Toronto Raptors on Friday night. Clarkson and company will then take on the Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers in back-to-back nights before heading back to the Staples Center for their matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans on April 1.
