Six-time NBA champion Kareem Abdul-Jabbar appears ready to get back to work with the Hall of Famer expressing interest in returning to the Milwaukee Bucks according to the Associated Press via USA Today:
NBA Hall of Famer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is interested in returning in some capacity to the Milwaukee Bucks.
Before being traded to the Los Angeles Lakers in 1975, Jabbar played for the Milwaukee Bucks and led the franchise to their first and only NBA title in 1971. Although already considered one of the league’s best in Milwaukee, Jabbar took his game and career to new heights with the Lakers, winning five more titles and retiring as arguably one of the greatest players of all time.

Along with the winning five titles in Los Angeles, Kareem and Magic Johnson helped build the Showtime Lakers at the beginning of the Dr. Jerry Buss era in the City of Angels.
Despite all Jabbar’s accomplishments has racked up since joining in the Lakers, the NBA’s all-time leading scorer has shown an interest in coaching. Although Jabbar’s interest in returning to Milwaukee is in “some capacity,” the legendary center and former Lakers assistant might want a shot at running the team from the sidelines.
Jabbar definitely seems eager to contribute and seems to be waiting on a call from the struggling franchise according to the Associated Press:
“If I get a call, I will definitely offer my services,” said Abdul-Jabbar, the franchise’s career leading scorer with 14,211 points. “There’s nothing on the table right now. A couple of people have asked me and if I had the chance to be part of this franchise again, I would take it.”
It’ll be interesting to see how things pan out for Jabbar and what role the former Laker great is looking for with his old team.
At this point, it may be only a matter of time before he’s back on the sidelines helping the Bucks get back on track in the Eastern Conference. It’ll be a tough task to turnaround that is arguably one of the worst in the league this season, but Jabbar appears up for the challenge.
