NBA.com reports that Bryant suffered the injury in the third quarter of the Lakers’ preseason loss to the Sacramento Kings. Bryant managed to stay in the game and finish with 21 points.

Kobe Bryant has skipped the Los Angeles Lakers’ practice to rest his aching right foot. The Lakers announced Monday that Bryant’s foot is sore and bruised.

This minor injury should not be an issue for the Lakers but there is a chance that Bryant misses the Lakers next exhibition game Wednesday night against the Clippers. The Lakers do not to have Kobe injured for opening night, so it would be surprising to have the coaching staff keep Bryant on the court.

The Lakers already have to deal with with Howard and his back injury. Although the back seems to have fully healed, there is always a chance that he aggravates the injury. Los Angeles also saw Steve Nash leave the court Sunday night due to an ankle injury, something that the coaching staff did not want to happen.
