On Tuesday night, before the matchup against the Detroit Pistons at the Staples Center, Kobe spoke to the media about a number of different things. One of which was Father Time and how his fate is out of his hands, via ESPN’s Baxter Holmes:

With suffering three consecutive season-ending injuries, the superstar has struggled to stay on the court with all the miles on his 36-year-old body. Although the injuries have been a persistent problem for the future Hall of Famer over the last few years, Bryant remains optimistic, but also realistic.

Kobe has come to terms with the fact his career could come to an end at any moment with another severe injury potentially being enough to walk away from the game. Bryant also admitted that when he found out the recovery process would take nine months to return, retirement crossed his mind.
