Kobe Bryant Talks About Lakers’ Playoff Chances Moving Forward

Kobe jpgThe Los Angeles Lakers are battling with the Utah Jazz for the final spot in the Western Conference playoffs on a nightly basis and we may not know who advances until the final day of the regular season.

At this point, the Jazz are half a game ahead of the Lakers and hold the tiebreaker in the case that the teams finish the season with the same record. If Utah wins the remaining games on its schedule, the Lakers will not be able to make the postseason no matter how well they play. The Lakers need to the Jazz to drop at least one more game this season for them to have the opportunity to reclaim the final spot in the playoffs.

Kobe Bryant spoke to the Daily News and he talked about the team’s playoff chances moving forward.

“We don’t know what the hell’s going to happen,” Kobe Bryant said. “The way I figure, we put four together and no (bleeping) way we’re losing the last game. No way.

“So we’ll just put four together then deal with the last one when we get to it.”

The Lakers and Jazz both play tonight, meaning the Lakers have a chance to sneak back into the postseason if things work out. Utah is playing a very talented Oklahoma City Thunder team Tuesday, while the Lakers host the New Orleans Hornets.

Los Angeles is relying on other teams to keep its playoff hopes alive, and tonight, every Lakers fans will be pulling for the Thunder to bear the Jazz.
