Lakers Look Back: Kobe Bryant Dunks On Dwight Howard

17736-kobe-dunk-on-dwight-howardKobe is one of those players who makes it tough to pick a singular play to define his career because there have been myriad special moments. One of those moments that consistently come up in the Bryant conversation is the night that he introduced Dwight Howard to the NBA with an earth-shattering dunk over the big man.

The play began with a routine pick and roll with Lamar Odom, and after he rubbed shoulders with LO to get past DeShawn Stevenson. Pat Garrity was in great position to slow down Bryant, but he was never known to be able to move well laterally, so he was quickly blown by exposing Howard under the paint.

Instead of laying it off the glass, Kobe exploded off the ground and threw down one of the most thunderous dunks of his career. Bean was too much for Howard during his rookie season (and essentially too much for him in his ninth season — for other reasons) and added another notch to his belt. Check out the dunk below.
