The Los Angeles Lakers have six games remaining on their schedule and must go 6-0 if they hope to avoid finishing with the worst record in franchise history. With five of the six games coming against teams in playoff contention, the negative feat appears to be all but a formality.

As the season winds down, the reality that several of the players on the current roster likely won’t be back next season begins to set in. Nick Young is reportedly leaning towards opting out of his contract, Pau Gasol may sign elsewhere, and Jordan Hill stated he isn’t interested in returning under a similar role.

Steve Nash is closing in on passing Mark Jackson for third on the all-time assists leaders list, but how much the 40-year-old point guard will play in the remaining games is unclear. D’Antoni said Nash wasn’t being shut down following Friday’s loss, but the point guard has already been declared out for Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers.
